Forest Park Murals by Joseph Mueller
Two murals by artist Joseph Mueller adorn the exterior walls of the racquetball courts in Forest Park, commissioned in 2026.
Location Details
The west wall, "Play at Forest Park," shows Hermes in a cool color palette. The east wall, "Victory in St. Louis," shows a contemporary take on the goddess Nike, in warm colors to represent celebration.
The murals were commissioned by Forest Park Forever and the City of St. Louis to add public art to the recreational courts adjacent to the Dennis & Judith Jones Visitor and Education Center.
The mural is visible from the adjacent walking and cycling paths and nearby Grand Drive and Lindell Boulevard, as well as by users of the basketball, racquetball and handball courts, the Visitor Center and the Variety Wonderland Playground. The installation is the first of its kind in the Park and covers approximately 3,270 square feet of previously unfinished concrete.
