Round Lake
Round Lake, located in the northeast area of the Park, is recognized by its dramatic fountain and backdrop of bald cypress trees and their related "cypress knees" (pneumataphores), conse-shaped root-like extensions that grow above ground.
The lake's historic fleur de lis fountain was originally installed in 1916 and restored in 2023 as part of a Forest Park Forever donor-funded restoration of Forest Park's east waterways. Many visitors enjoy coming here for a quiet moment during the day or after sunset since restoration included new light features to enhance the fountain in the dark.
